Drop in city fuel economy with normal highway fuel economy?
ash asked:
I have a BMW 328 with 175000. Over the past 1 year, I have noticed the city fuel economy to be 16, while the highway is 30. Previously, I was getting 22 for city, and 30 for highway. Any suggestions appreciated.

let off the gas. city driving is more affected by the driver than hwy driving is… hwy driving tells you more about how the car is running, city tells more about the driver.
also, check your gas. if you recently started using e10 (you probably did, about 1 year ago most stations started to sell it exclusively) there’s nothing wrong with the car, just the gas… and unless you can find ethanol free gas, there’s nothing you can do about it.

Either you have changed your driving style or someone else has been borrowing the car.
